In The Works

In The Works: is made up of two long time friends; Jerry Fleming and Mike Hericks. Jerry and Mike met in 7th grade band class in the city of Bath, Maine. At that time Jerry played the drums and Mike played the guitar. Both of them come from musical families with music backgrounds of all kinds. Mike has been playing the guitar since the age of 4, and Jerry had been playing the drums since the age of 7 and started playing guitar around the age of 12, his father teaching him the basics. Then Mike took him under his wing, and taught, and is still teaching Jerry much of what he knows today. Mike is also currently in a band called Silverado. The band is made up of his father, his two brothers, and himself. Silverado has opened up for (to name a few) Terri Clark, Don Williams, Ronny McDowell, Molly and the Haymakers, and Jerry Reed! Mike's not just great with the guitar either, as you will come to hear in the song ?Chose To Run?, where he also plays the piano, drums, and bass. Not to mention a wiz at Production. Both of these guys are ?play by ear? musicians, although, during their 6 years of playing in the school bands and jazz band, they have aquired a good understanding of music theory as well. During their senior year in high school, Mike?s family moved to Wisconsin, where he still resides. As for Jerry...after high school he joined the Navy and did a four year tour, and he is now living in Long Island New York. It wasn?t really until the internet became big that Jerry and Mike started communicating again on a regular basis. And during that time, they realized that even though they were separated by many miles; thanks to high speed internet they could at least do some recording together. You are now hearing the results of two good friends, who are without a doubt musically in sync with each other. Mike and Jerry have had no outside help (as of yet) with their recordings, and have tackled every aspect of their songs themselves, from the lyrics, to the music, to the mixing, to the production.
