Editor's review

Music doesn't get much more honest or down-to-earth than these slowly strummed gospel instrumentals from North Carolina's Ira Smith. He approaches these classic 19th-century hymns entirely unaccompanied on electric guitar, his tone reminiscent of an autoharp or even a harpsichord. While the arrangements may be simple, the spirit behind them is anything but.

Biography

His favorite hobby is practicing the guitar nearly every day and he loves playing old hymns in a country style.
