There's a touch of the vintage bluesman in Jake Berry. If you then add a dash of Dylan, Prine, and Cockburn, you're edging closer to the territories he haunts. A published poet and working visual artist, Berry brings depth and feeling to his thoughtful acoustic folk, serving as proof that it isn't only Leonard Cohen who gets to write his books and sing them, too.
Biography
As a poet he composes poetry and
verbovisual poetry of a non-traditional variety. As a songwriter he works in
several veins: traditional and contemporary folk and also a more free form
style drawing on blues, folk, jazz and classical influences.
