Authentic early '60s soul and beat music is on the decks when ultra-contemporary English R& B singer Hunter is in the house. He's so cool and smooth you might mistake him for the real deal--and he is: 21st century soul-style!
British soul man James Hunter is headed out on tour with Chris Isaak this August. "I was a James Hunter fan the moment I heard him sing," says Isaak of the Grammy-nominated bandleader. "If you haven't heard a real soul singer with a great band and swinging horns then get your shoes shined and get ready." Hunter will also share a bill with blues legends Buddy Guy and George Thorogood at Colorado's majestic Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
After his recent performance at the Paradise, The Boston Globe proclaimed, "Hunter is a man born to perform... Onstage he pulls out all the stops." The Boston Herald called it a "killer show" and extolled that he "ignited an adoring crowd."
In the meantime, catch Hunter live on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on July 14th. He'll be performing "Don't Do Me No Favours," the infectious first single from his new album, 'The Hard Way' (June 10/Hear Music).
The U.K. press has been raving about the album since it was released there this spring, and now it's America's turn to get in on the action. Rolling Stone says, "James Hunter hails from Colchester, England, but he has American soul running through his blood... Hunter cackles yelps, shouts, and bellows."
