Editor's review

This Texan's remarkable finger-picking style on the acoustic guitar is the first thing to pull in the listener. But it's his mouth harp skills and honest vocal delivery that make you see that he's more than a just a fan of Leo Kottke and John Fahey records. Jared teases, "his only reason for picking up a guitar in the first place was to attract the ladies," but he's ended up a fine writer along the way.

Biography

Jared Dobbs, a suburbanite of Garland, Texas grew up playing football in the streets and cowboys and Indians in the front yard.  Somewhere between then and now he became that kinda hopeless romantic, third wheel guy that comes and goes like the wind.  His only reason for picking up a guitar in the first place was to attract the ladies.  I think he heard somewhere that musicians get all the chicks.  It didn't exactly work out for him that way but he became a heck of a guitar player and not to shabby of a song-writer either, of course he'll never admit to it.  Jared has many life experiences threaded through his songs as he tries to capture the humanity of man and the fear of honesty.  His comical style of performing keeps his heavy ideology light and produces gut wrenching laughs through out  the audiences.  If you ask him now why he plays music he'll tell you he believes that the music he writes will in some way help others.  His favorite thing in life is sitting on the front porch with friends smoking a cigar and sipping a good glass of merlot.
