Editor's review

Jason Cameron creates honest folk on one guitar in the mold of Bruce Cockburn or the Finn Brothers. Jason's writing focuses on the short story he wants to tell at the moment of the song's creation and that tale is told simply and from the heart, with only a few chords for embellishment.

I know I can't save the world with these little stories I tell. If someone takes comfort in knowing they are not alone when they hear me singing something they feel, it's all been worth it. The years of poverty, lousy jobs, and all the struggling... it's all worthwhile. I could probably put a million dollars to good use, but that's not something to live for. All I need is my freedom and a good guitar. And a six-pack of cheap beer. And maybe a little plate of cut-up chunks of cheese and sausage with little toothpicks stuck in them, the kind with the translucent red and blue cellophane on top... Yeah, that's all I need.

The only way to preserve happiness is in memories. Be happy now.
