Editor's review

Warbler Patti Sterling takes a cue from LaVern Baker and other blues goddesses on "Love Is Like An Angel," one of the standout tracks produced by American blues musician Jasper Mills and U.K. player Matt Thorpe.

Biography

Since 1999 Matt Thorpe (UK) and John Cohmer and other members of The Jasper Mills Band (USA) have been recording music together, sharing component parts of the final songs via the Internet. The songs available here are the results of this distant paternership, probably a unique situation, where the band members live thousands of miles apart! These collaborative works continued for a couple of years without either party actually meeting. This was rectified when in Sept 2002 Matt Thorpe flew into Nashville to join John and other Mp3.com Blues artists for 4 days of recording, jammin' and general celebration and appreciation. The fruits of these session were released by the Mp3 Blues Allstars, as they became known, on the CD 'Nashville Sessions' produced and mixed by Matt Thorpe. see Blues Allstars page on Mp3.com.
