The diverse style of Justin Boland (aka J-Boogie) can be traced as far back as 1991, when he cofounded the San Francisco Bay Area's longest-lasting underground hip-hop radio show "Beatsauce." With a musical appetite that includes hip-hop, soul, reggae, downtempo, and everything in-between, this cat's debut release "Dubtronic Science" cooks up delicious, sexy dub beats sure to satisfy anyone's hunger for diversity and quality.

Biography

J Boogie's Dubtronic Science is a blunted blend of hip-hop grooves, sexy dubs, and beats for your sheets. DJ'ng for over 10 years and voted "San Francisco's Best Radio and Club DJ" by citysearch.com, J Boogie (AKA Justin Boland) remains one of the brightest new prospects of the Bay Area music scene. On his debut album, J-Boogie invites People Under the Stairs, Goapele, Capital A, Crown City Rockers, Gina Rene' of Soulstice and more to join him on the journey, creating a testament that all good music comes from the soul.

"The original idea was to combine different rhythms with hip-hop and dub featuring musical elements from around the world. Some of it to chill to, some of it to dance to, some of it to listen to with a friend." explains Boogie. His remixes have been put to the test with Soulstice, Romanowski, DJ Zeph, and Systemwide. Alongside his production credits, J-Boogie can be found keeping San Francisco's vibe running strong; on-air with two radio programs Beatsauce -Voted "Best Hip-Hop Radio Show" -SF BAY GUARDIAN and "Roots to Branches" Fridays on 90.3 FM KUSF).
