I was interested to know what recording could be achieved, with a £10 microphone from Maplin and an old PC (on-board sound) running Ubuntu Linux (of course!) & using Audacity ("LMMS is too hard for me") to do the recording.
Having grown up as a techie kid in a prosperous, starving, world increasingly shackled by the "mind forged manacles" of "intellectual property" (money) restrictions etc. - the sound wisdom of Jesus Christ's words (Matthew 5 to 7, etc.) has become increasingly evident to me:
"Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.."
"You can?t serve both God and Mammon. Therefore, I tell you, don?t be anxious for your life.."
"Don?t judge, so that you won?t be judged. For with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged.."
"..whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets."
"Freely you received, so freely give."
One can argue about ownership of ideas, etc. - but who gave us a soul to think & feel with? Creation, time & energy to work with? Life? Could we ever repay our Creator? No, but we can, at least, take seriously what He says..
"This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him."
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life."
Anyway, you've come here (presumably) to hear me sing, not to preach... ..these are more song-ideas from the heart, rather than any particular works of audiotechnical perfection. They cost me nothing, so if you care to share them - feel free! :-)
