Sweden's Zelmerloow isn't just a classical guitarist--he's an ergonomist, too. Perhaps the artist's study of the physical bond between player and instrument explains his remarkably limber style, which renders highly technical classical pieces without a trace of the common stiffness.
Joakim Zelmerloow - Active classical guitarist, writer and composer but also involved in other projects as a producer and recording engineer. A period of eight years of private research in ergonomics, psychology and guitar technique has laid the foundation for a new type of technique, the Ergonomic guitar technique. This is a method for classical guitar dealing with the physical and psychological relationship between the player and the instrument, and how this interaction affects the execution of motoric information during play and exercise. Besides a series of articles in the journal of the Swedish Guitar and Lute Society during 2004 and 2005, the research resulted in a much appreciated publication called "Ergonomisk gitarrteknik" (Ergonomic guitar technique) that was released in November 2005. A translation in English is underway and will soon be accessible...
