Biography
No guitars are necessary for composer/performer Joe Jackson on Rain, his latest release featuring his original rhythm section from the iconic Joe Jackson Band (with Graham Maby on bass and Dave Houghton on drums).
Three decades of timeless, diverse, genre-free wit and style have not dulled his Look Sharp! edge though, for me, this disk harkens back to the urbane and sophisticated vibe of 1982's Night and Day.
Joe makes his home these days in the former East Berlin, where he recorded this album during a particularly rainy periodbut despite a few moments of melancholy, it also boasts plenty of humor, swing, some barbed social commentary and even rocks out with some new-wave-punk swagger.
