Biography

The debut album by Wisconsin's Johnny & The Mo-Tones "Two Hits For The Kitty" The Sun Studio Sessions, proved to be a great success. 17 weeks on the Roots Music Report Blues Charts, aired on such syndicated shows as; Blues Deluxe, At The Crossroads, Music Choice Channel, XM Satelite Network and blues radio stations around the world. The group was also featured on Wisconsin Public Radio, Minnesota Public Radio and various other shows around the country. The album was recorded at Sun Studios, Memphis, TN and was the first leg of their "Ultimate Road Trip" series in which the group will travel to historic recording studios to record albums. The Mo-Tones recently returned from Muscle Shoals, AL having recorded their next album at the legendary Fame Recording Studio. This album is now in post production and will be released later this year (2006). The group is headed by Jazz/blues piano man, John (Johnny) Altenburgh and the rest of the Mo-Tones are; Chris O'Keefe, guitar; John Greiner, tenor sax, Keras Rubka-Nimz, vocals; Mark Mattioli, drums. Other recent additions include Otis McLennon from Otis & The Alligator fame. The Muscle Shoals sessions also include the legendary David Hood on Bass and Mike Dillon on Drums.
