Jori Chisholm has emerged as one of the world’s premier professional pipers. He has made his mark on the international competitive piping scene winning top prizes in North America and Scotland, including the first-ever United States Gold Medal Piping Championship, the Royal Scottish Pipers' Society Bronze Star for First Place in the 'A' Marches at the Argyllshire Gathering in Oban, and Runner-Up in the Silver Medal Piobaireachd at the Northern Meeting in Inverness, the Dr. Dan Reid Memorial Cameron-Gillies Recital Challenge, the P/M Angus MacDonald Western Regional Championship, and G.S. MacLennan Piping Invitational Piobaireachd -- all on his first attempt. In 2003, Jori placed in the top four in the Gold Medal Piobaireachd at Inverness. Jori is a member of the SFU Pipe Band, and played with the band when they won the 2001 World Pipe Band Championships. Jori graduated from the University of Puget Sound in Psychology with Phi Beta Kappa Honors. He lives in Seattle and teaches piping full-time to students of all ages and skill levels. Jori teaches pipers around the world through his long distance education program as part of his website BagpipeLessons.com. In addition, Jori has conducted piping classes and workshops across the United States, Canada, Australia, and Japan. Jori performs regularly in concert, recital or competition over 75 times per year and has been featured as a soloist, band member, co-producer or composer on six recordings and is currently completing his first solo CD.
