Born and raised in Colombia, South America, until the age of 16, Neil Zarama aka Juju, developed and nourished his musical palette from his diverse Latino background. From one country to another, Juju's musical tastes as a teen expanded through an array of styles ranging from punk and metal to Latino Afro-Rhythms and dub. Juju began his djing career in 1991 playing dancehall, dub and Industrial music. He secured his first drum and bass residency in late 1994 at "The Jungle," the first exclusive Drum and Bass club in San Francisco, making him a pioneer key player in the San Francisco and US Drum and Bass scene. In 1996, Juju became a co-founder of Phunckateck which is considered to be the strongest drum and bass collective in the States.

Juju is currently one of the States busiest and most established DJ/Producers. Respected for his fierce DJing, programming and exclusive dubplate selections, Juju is in heavy demand throughout the States, Asia, Europe and South America. In San Francisco Juju hosts his own club night, PHUTURO, one of the nations longest running and most respected Drum and Bass weeklies. Abroad, Juju has been shaking international dance floors from the UK to South America. Juju is also tearing up dance floors in Asia playing gigs throughout Japan and holding down for 2 years an exclusive DJ residency at now defunked Hong Kong's largest Drum and Bass party HARD DRIVE [cloud 9]. In South America he as become a favorite and you can catch Juju in Venezuela where he hosts his own string of collaboration parties in conjunction with Simpl3 Crew.

On the production front, Juju has been setting high standards being one of the first American Drum and Bass artist to be signed to multiple top notch UK labels including Renegade Recordings, Trouble on Vinyl, Subtronix, Invaderz Transmission and Total Science's Advanced/CIA. Ranked by many of the top international DJ's as the best US Drum and Bass producer and with his tunes currently being played by Fabio, Grooverider, Invaderz, klute, Total Science, Storm, V recordings crew, John B, Loxy, Ram crew and many more, Juju has set the pace for international artist in the genre. In the States, Juju has had a string of successful releases on almost every major Drum and Bass label making him one of the most prolific and well established artist around. His studio projects have included working with Calibre, K [Polar], Abstract, UFO, Hive and his new label partner DJ Craze.

In 2001 Juju launched his own imprint Phuturo Recordings via S.T. Holding Ltd [UK]. The label has been making waves throughout the Drum and Bass scene in Europe, US, South America and Asia. Phuturo's release schedule is top notch with an eclectic mixture of international Drum and Bass artists including Juju, Calibre, Klute, Baron, Greg Packer and Drumagick. Phuturo Recordings is being held as one of the best international labels in the Drum and Bass circuit worldwide.

Juju and DJ Craze have teamed up and started a new Imprint called Cartel Recordings, which will cater to more rugged dancefloor Drum and Bass. The new Cartel tunes are already being supported by Zinc, Dylan, A Sides, Hive, Twisted Individual and many other international DJ's.

With more music scheduled for release on Soul:R, Advanced, CIA, and the highly anticipated debut EP on Liquid V, Juju continues to push the standard of Drum and Bass Worldwide. As Cartel [DJ craze & Juju] they will be headlining the Knowledge magazine 10 year Anniversary tour all over North America in the winter of 2004 but also expect to see Juju touring Japan, South America and Europe extensively 2004-2005.
