This LA songwriter is correct to draw a Mazzy Star comparison--she's got Hope Sandoval's dreamy narcosis. But the broader alignment is simply with early-'90s coffeehouse pop: strummy guitars, plaintive vocals, and an importance placed on being earnest.

This sounds, in turns, something like Mazzy Star and Daniel Johnston. The sound is unpolished, but all the more endearing because of that.
