Editor's review

What this pop-metal princess has done is what any good artist can hope for: transcribe the emotional upheavals and fabric of life into art. Infamous for snide, boisterous, and outlandish behavior, Osbourne opts to fuse the riveting energy of dance music with her hard-rock sensibilities for a sound in the same orbit as Garbage or Evanescence. Clean production, raucous synths, early '80s sensibilities, and a punk attitude all help this explosive songstress come into her own.

Biography

New York, NY- You can?t count a good girl down--Kelly Osbourne released her sophomore effort June 7th, 2005, on Sanctuary Records. This ten song CD presents an intimate look into the mind of the young scion of rock royalty and shows what makes her tick.

A departure from her breakthrough debut, 2004's Changes (Sanctuary), and produced by Linda Perry (Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani); the CD includes a number of pop gems co-written by Kelly herself. Creating a clever hybrid of electronica melded with just the right touch of attitude, Kelly establishes a sincere sound that comes together with a sense of confidence.

Complete with intriguing lyrics and a unique sound, Sleeping in the Nothing is a well crafted collection of pop mementos that still packs one hell of a punch (and the Kelly temperament we?ve all come to know and love!). A seasoned veteran of the music industry, television and good old rabble rousing, Kelly presents a more mature sounding record. While the first single, ?One Word,? offers up a haunting pop ballad, Kelly delves into a variety of topics, taking on date rape with ?Don?t Touch Me,? restlessness with ?Suburbia? and the deterioration of our society with ?Entropy.? Tracks such as ?I Can?t Wait? and ?Save Me? show a much softer side of Kelly.

At a time when she could have easily packed it in and given up, Kelly chose music to show the world what she?s made of. She has managed to turn the events of the past few years into fuel for her second, and much more personal, CD. Kelly emerges with a more vulnerable and humbled sense of way as she dishes out another installment of infectious tunes sure to draw the listener into her world.

You thought you knew Kelly Osbourne? Think again.
