Biography

Kilometraje is formed by two Cuban MCs, Enrique Oriol (October 27, 1986) known as Pichi. Luis M Ruiz (July 7, 1976) known as Bolo. They meet for the first time in the city of Hialeah in the summer of 2005. After a long debate about the state of Cuban Hip Hop, they decided to make a group that would represent its values. At a time and place were Hip Hop is commercialized, marginalized, and discriminated, Kilometraje with their verses will get inside your mind...
From the time Pichi was a little boy he felt love for music, growing up at a time when Cuban Hip Hop started flourishing, he used to watched MCs battling in his hometown, La Pachanga in Cojimar. Today after a few years perfecting his art, Pichi is well known in the underground circuit because of his ability to freestyle and his unique tone of voice. Some of his musical influences are Marc Anthony, An?nimo Consejo, EPG, Papo Record, Orishas, Bow Wow and Nelly.
Bolo started MCing since the times of Vico C, around 1992. Growing up in Alamar had a great influence, Alamar has been named as the birthplace of Cuban Hip Hop. In 1992 at 15 years of age, while at school Bolo attended musical festivals and competitions. It was something rare to see an MC back then, but there was a strong movement of break-dance and piwi, a name Cubans gave to Hip Hop dance. Eventually the movement gave way to the rise of Cuban Hip Hop and the Cuban MC. Besides writing , he enjoys producing. Musical influences include Beny More, Bob Marley, Vico C, Biggie and 2pac.
Kilometraje has recorded 3 mixtapes; El Mistape Vol 1, El Mistape Vol 2 and Vampiros en Miami. A total of more than 60 songs with invited local artists: Yuniel, El Tata, Serrano, Clazeleo, Precinto 14, Kiesly, Kuban Daddy, Many and Sangre Cubana. They have also performed at Festival Flamingo (2005 y 2006), Festival de la Voz Hispana (2006), Flagami Fest (2006), Canal 22, Canal 41, Radio Unica, Zona Cero at Clasica 92.3, Caf? Nostalgia, IO Lounge and Club Metropolis. In March of 2007, Kilometraje performed at "Descarga Total", a new TV show from channel 19 in Miami, for which they composed and recorded the show's theme song.
At the moment Kilometraje is recording their first LP titled Distinto y Diferente, whit 15 new songs written and produced by Bolo and Pichi. Along with the CD, a DVD is also in production. With Distinto y Diferente, Kilometraje plans to define their style, opening the doors to the future of the group and raising the flag of Cuban Hip Hop.
