Romanian-born, Bulgarian-schooled, and now Tampa-located classical pianist Kristian Banatzianou brings versatility and technical aplomb to demanding sonatas and toccatas. Rare is the artist who can vigorously assail sweeping forte passages, then dip into light, playful pianissimo without losing stride, but Banatzianou does just that.

Biography

The Romanian born pianist KRISTIAN BANATZIANOU has made numerous appearances as recitalist and orchestra soloist in Bulgaria, Austria, UK, Romania, Slovakia and USA. Mr. Banatzianou graduated from the National School of Music in Sofia, Bulgaria and received Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in piano performance from the Bulgarian State Academy of Music and Master degree from the University of South Florida. He is a prize winner of several competitions including Concerteum International Piano Competition in Greece, Pancho Vladigerov and Albert Roussel International Piano Competitions in Bulgaria and Dimitar Nenov and Young Talent National Competitions in Bulgaria. Kristian Banatzianou has made recordings for the Bulgarian National Radio and Television. Mr. Banatzinaou's major teachers include M. Belcheva, Triphon Silyanovsky, Dora Lazarova and Svetozar Ivanov. He also participated in master classes with such pianists as J. Mounier, B. Bloch, B. Noev, A.Greene, and M. Fernandes.
