Nigerian guitarist and singer Kunle Kuti plays heartfelt folk-pop ballads, singing with a smooth, soulful voice that recalls in equal measure such disparate artists as Joan Armatrading, Ray LaMontagne, and Jimmy Cliff. Further, Kuti's innate sense of pop production--perhaps learned at the heels of his musician father--turns even the simplest melodies into stirring anthems.
Kunle Kuti was born in the early '70s to the family of Kuti's, in Nigeria (west Africa). His career kicked off, when he featured as a bassist, in his late father's band,he later decided to come up with his own album, after he has produced, some high selling albums both in Africa and outside Africa.
Right now, he's got an album titled: Because of you, it is a folk song that features an indegenous lyrics both in English and Yoruba.
