This San Francisco New Age pianist combines serious professional training with a wide-eyed, almost childlike playing style. That's a winning combination. Sullivan's deliberate, keenly felt phrases draw out the texture of even the simplest structures, as though we've been handed some secret key.
Raised in a musical family, Laura began playing the piano at 4 years old. At age 8 she was writing compositions and by 18 had composed a body of work, including 6 feature length musicals. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Piano Performance with honors from CSU Chico with further graduate studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Her work is included in film scores, and other media soundtrack. Laura is a member of the piano artist collective Whisperings founded by composer, pianist and radio programmer, David Nevue. This artist community promotes through its radio station and concert tours with artists including David Nevue, Scott D. Davis, Suzanne Ciani and David Lanz. Laura's two recent releases were produced by renowned artist Chris Camozzi, (appearing with artists Jeff Lorber, Michael Bolton, Maria Carey, Barbara Streisand and many others). Kathy Parsons of Solo Piano Publications writes: "A strong and passionate pianist, Laura Sullivan brings a distinctive new voice to contemporary piano." RJ Lannan of the New Age Reporter writes: Laura Sullivan's music shimmers with an effervescent vitality.
