The incomparable sound of a full-throated polyphonic chorus is on proper display in this Italian group's originalist renditions. Bringing its broad vocal spread to ancient and classical worship songs, the group reminds us that early sacred music was often remarkably ambitious in structure.
Coro Polifonico & Orchestra Laus Deo?from Busto Arsizio was established in 1974. Its aim is to get Holy Polyphony better known, as an invaluable heritage of the Church, constantly revived by faith and religious experience. Since its foundation, the Choir has improved its technical standards and interpreting skills not only by continual training, but also thanks to advanced courses under the direction of italian and foreign conductors, among whom Maestro E. Volk, conductor of the Singing Academy in Mainz. In May 1987, the Choir went on a tourn?e in Germany, invited by the same Maestro E. Volk ans held successful concerts in Mainz and Bingen during the celebrations for the European year. In November 1990, it performed in Czechoslovakia and Austria, starting musical exchanges with some eastern Europe Choirs. In november 2002, the choir made two concert at Brno (Czech Republic). Various performances in well-known musical festivals have received hearty consent both from the public and the critics, and permitted the Choir fruitful comparison with other vocal groups, as to style and repertoire.
