Biography

Liquid Groove Mojo is one of Arkansas’ top bands.   These veteran musicians have been together for over 4 years, with a live CD, and a brand new nationally released CD “Cradle to the Grave”,  and hundreds of shows under their belt. They are currently signed to Miracle Records in Eugene, OR.     Working with multi-platinum producer/engineer Jeff Brocaw, their first single, has been being played on Wal-mart’s Worldwide radio network,  on a regular rotation.   Combining blues with rock and fusion,   these guys can swing from heavy, soulful blues, to an almost reggae/rock southern feel.  They have been compared to such bands as The Black Crowes, Arc Angels, and even, on the jamband side, to Gov’t Mule.   The band has appeared at the Crossroads Musical Exposition and the International Blues Competition in Memphis, TN.    They have played all over the mid south, averaging 120 to 150 shows a year, and show no signs of letting up.

Guitarists Joe Pitts and Darrell Davis, have played over 900 shows together in a couple of regional bands, before combining to bring LGM to the Arkansas forefront.   Bassist Al Hagood and Drummer Bryan Blankenship have been noted as one of the tightest rhythm sections in this region.   The four of them, when tied together musically,   really show the influences the band pulls from, funk, soul, blues and rock.  Monsterous guitar tones, soaring slide guitar work, and soulful vocals round out this quartet’s musical abilities.  Prolific songwriting makes this bands’ sound timeless as well as contemporary.
