Lisa Mitchell, a violinist and violist, is currently on faculty as Assistant Viola Professor at Brigham Young University-Idaho. She attends the Aspen Music Festival and School in the summer months, where she is a member of the Aspen Chamber Symphony. She recieved her Bachelor of Music degree from Brigham Young University-Idaho, where she served as principal violist of the Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra, and her Masters degree in Viola Performance from the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music where she studied with Masao Kawasaki and Catharine Carroll. Lisa has performed the Walton Viola Concerto with the BYU-Idaho Symphony, and the Coeur D'Alene Symphony as the winner of their Young Artist Competition. In 2004 she won 2nd place in the International Gee Viola Competition. She performs on a Kiernoziak viola which has been donated for her use.
