Here's a fusion group that's not afraid to let some rough rock edges show. Whether it's a clanging, open snare drum, ringing guitar chords, or a funky bass line, Lloyd Warren and the Warren Project keep the genre influences crisp. Armed with the appropriate chops, they don't let us forget that it's jazz fusion.
Biography
Lloyd Warren and his band, The Warren Project, are an exciting group of?jazz and funk musicians who Lloyd has?gathered together to play the music?that he writes and loves.? Lloyd is a veteran of the blues and jazz circuits, but got tired of playing other artists' music.? Finally, he went into the studio and?started recording?these songs that allowed the musicians the chance to stretch out, yet still maintain a more orchestrated structure to the music than typical jazz.? He hopes you enjoy listening to?these songs?as much as he loves playing them.? Lloyd Warren plays guitar on the cd as well as piano, synths, bass, and percussion.?Mike McGee is on drums; Tom Regeski on sax.?Lloyd's music is a combination of jazz and funk, with a rock sound.? He is influenced by the work of Mike Stern, Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Pat Martino, Shawn Lane, Eric Johnson, Robben Ford, and Allan Holdsworth.?
