Editor's review

Arthur Lee's seminal psych-rock band helped usher in the Hendrix generation, when squealing neo-blues guitar and rumbling drumwork took over pop music on urgency alone. Many of today's artists have set up benefits for the ailing Lee, a testament to the enduring appreciation of music and man.

Biography

Listen to "A House Is Not A Motel" from Forever Changes!

Arthur Lee, founder of the influential '60s psychedelic band Love, is battling Leukemia. Love's "Forever Changes" is considered a masterpiece of the genre, and has inspired artists of every stripe, from The Doors and Jimi Hendrix to contemporary stars like Lenny Kravitz and Ben Harper. As Lee has no health insurance, he is in need of financial assistance to get through the costly treatments, including a cord blood transplant.

Robert Plant, Ryan Adams and Ian Hunter are among artists scheduled to perform at a June 23rd benefit show at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.

Benefit concerts are also in the works for Los Angeles and London.

Tickets for the Beacon show can be purchased HERE.

Additionally, a fund to help Lee has been set up at www.thelovesociety.com
