This West Indies native and current Miami resident sings slowed-down dancehall that doesn't forget where it came from. Luddy mixes Sean Paul-like club-chant vocals with thrumming basslines but stays grounded with juicy reggae guitars and cool island rhythms.
Ludwig Clarke, AKA Luddy, born 1982, is a singing sensation from St. Ann, Jamaica, W.I. As a youth, Luddy dedicated and devoted his life to singing. Launching his career at the age of 13 while at Ferncount High School in Jamaica, he began singing in school concerts and at other local events. A close family friend and DJ, Chilla B, inspired Luddy to pursue deejaying to gain more exposure as an artist around the island. Seizing the opportunity, Luddy performed at local venues proving himself as a writer, singer and deejay. In 2001, Luddy moved to Miami to further his singing career. Dwight "Dolla Cham" Yearwood, a young producer out of Miami, collaborated with Luddy producing a demo and marketing his music in the streets of South Florida and among record labels. As such, Luddy has worked with several different record labels such as Poe Boy Entertainment, Black Chiney Inc. and Work of Art Entertainment. Luddy's music is a product of his Jamaican ancestry with an American influence. Only one of its kind, Luddy's music mixes both dancehall and cultural reggae with hip-hop. Writing his own tracks, Luddy speaks of his life experiences allowing listeners to relate and connect with him as a writer, an artist and as an individual.
