Editor's review

Performing on the decks before some of the greatest dance-music DJs of our time, Luke Fair works out a seductive aura of abstract aphrodisiacs on his latest on Bedrock Records, where he proves that sorcery is definitely a hard science. Warm and bubbly bass lines persistently caress the body while the airy mist of trance synths whisper into the ears of the unsuspecting dance-music fans worldwide. Fair’s mixes are like a voodoo incantation where he takes the abstract effigy of your body and gently ignites his mixes beneath the soles of your feet to initiate a dance that is romantic, powerful, and tribal.

Biography

Fresh from supporting John Digweed in the US on yet another tour with Bedrocks head honcho, Luke Fair drops his first ever-devoted mix album and the third in the Original Series. Luke distinguishes himself from the 2 mixes that go before in all but the quality of those mixes and the way in which they define the unique qualities of the DJ that put the album together. OS_0.3 employs all Luke Fair's production talent in re-editing tracks and mixes to evoke his familiar jackin, raw and live sound that has rocked the dance floors from Buenos Aires to Bedrock London, Singapore to Space in Miami and now looks ready to go even further beyond!

2005 has seen some superb production from the hands of Luke Fair in his 4 track EP for Bedrock that demonstrated both the diversity and talent at his disposal but now these skills are brought to bear on Os.0_3 as he kicks into the mix with Sebastian Leger tech-house "Mooguno". From here, the warm house sounds continue already well upbeat into Upfade "Friday Loops" before the exclusive Mongoose 1 and "Synth Song" really fires the tech house flare and we?re fully into the beat driven mix and the true sound of the DJ. "Ain't No" by Arcade Music drops before the lush beats of ATFC's remix of Overstreet's "Lose Yourself" picks up and trips back and forth in the mix as we build into the big section and the real party ass kickers of Moonbootica "Bulldog Beats" and Skylark's new "When In Rome". T and F vs. Moltosugo "La Serenissima" on Airplane Records drops in and takes things a little deeper before Sebastian Leger re-enters the mix with his familiar driving techhouse as regularly sees releases on Carl Cox's Intec label.

Mashtronic's "Supernova" hits the mix doing exactly what you'd expect as a corniucopia of sounds slip and slide through the mix before the fantastic production of Rowan Blades and Chris Lake in "Malteser Geezer" (Big Mince Mix) enter the fray, a sound that lends itself perfectly to the big sound of Luke. Paolo Mojo's "1983" adds an electronic edge and sets the scene for the final hit of Torley Wong with "Xristophan" and Luke and Desyn Masiello's own mix of the track on the consistently excellent Alternative Route and Lifelike "Waves" cutting and up over the top in this fantastic mix.
