If you like trippy vocal electronica in the same vein as Gus Gus or Luomo, LuLu Rouge is another one you'll add to your list. "Bless You" charted in the top ranks of Denmark's iTunes and is making it into late night record bag in Europe and beyond. Dark and seedy with its whispers and gurgling beats, the LuLu sound is perfect 5 a.m. fare.
Danish downtempo dub-bers Lulu Rouge released their debut album Bless You to the world this week, after an impressive showing at the top of the iTunes Denmark charts upon its May 13th domestic release. The DJ duo that Trentemoller calls "the next big thing to come out of Denmark" has been getting a ton of love from the Danish press (including five 5-star reviews) and beyond, and now Bless You is finally available at all digital retailers, with a handful of remixes to follow.
Lulu Rouge is comprised of DJ T.O.M. (Trentemoller's touring partner and right-hand for the last three years) and Buda, a well-respected DJ and producer on the Copenhagen scene. Debut single "Bless You" features vocals by seven-time Danish Music Awards nominee Mikael Simpson.
