Biography

Three of Maeran's CD's are available for free download at Woven Wheat Whispers as part of their 'Pass It On Music' charity initiative

Maeran (Dominic Ward and Steve Wilson) met at Liverpool University and have been writing, recording and performing ever since. They originally performed covers of Simon-Garfunkel songs, but soon began producing their own original blend of folk/folk rock music combining unique melodies, captivating vocal and instrumental arrangements and powerful poignant lyrics that challenge people to listen to what they have to say.

Maeran's music is highly original and embraces the fundamentally Christian values that both Dominic and Steve hold. They do not however, limit themselves to producing overt Christian lyrics. They focus on issues of justice and peace in many of their songs, although their Christmas music clearly promotes a deep Christian message.

In addition to their music both Dom and Steve are published writers. Steve has written a delightful Christmas story entitled 'The Tale Of Was-ale and Yule-tide' (Trafford Books) and a brilliant spiritual work entitled, 'The Sacramental Cat' which is receiving rave reviews in the UK and is selling like hot cakes. He also has verse included in a newly published book, 'Near Restful Waters'. Dom has had poetry included in a new anthology of Poetry, 'Midnight Thoughts', released by Dogma Publications.

Maeran are non-profit making and any money raised through performance sales of CD's and sales of literature is given to charity organizations. They invite you to share their music and if it inspires you, to support the work of charities around the world. The charities they support are SPUC. Life, Christian Aid and CAFOD.
