Editor's review

Atlanta foursome Magnapop returns with a new set of bright and catchy tunes. Although we haven't heard from the band in a while--the last Magnapop LP was released in 1996--and two members are new, this new lineup of the group is as engaging as ever.

Biography

Magnapop is a fantastic four-piece pop-core band from Atlanta, GA. Singer Linda Hopper and guitarist Ruthie Morris have been playing together for years. After a self imposed hiatus, and the addition of Scott Rowe on bass and Chad Williams on drums, the band is back and better than ever. After two sparkling albums on Priority Records, Mouthfeel is everything you've come to expect from this great band. Ruthie's guitar lines wrap magically around Linda's hypnotic vocals. Want a true testimonial of their brilliance? Why not ask two of their greatest fans: Michael Stipe and Bob Mould. "We are a band who really likes what we do, and I think that's a great way to sum us up." Morris says earnestly. "It's really fun to play in this band. We can't wait to go and bash around."

"Magnapop are like a cross between AC/DC and the Young Marble Giants" -Michael Stipe.
