With her rich, husky voice and troubadour's approach to the guitar, Los Angeles-based chanteuse Mali Woods resides somewhere between neo-soul and urban-folk. An urgent, listen-to-my-story delivery has earned Woods comparisons to Ani DiFranco, but her deep, battle-scarred vocals equally recall Erykah Badu.
I look at the world and see things can be changed. I see people suffering. I see confusion, I see pain, I see small bits of love and goodness mixed in with the confusion and arrogance and egos. These bits of goodness are like the stars shining and twinkling in the dark night sky. I see the world as an opportunity to change for the better good, not a place to spread hate& ignore-ance. I see the beauty in all of life, and i choose to love. I have spent allot of time hurting because i see so many people that choose to hate, and choose not to see this reality, and this existence as and opportunity to grow up, by that i mean break cycles. Music is amazing, not only because it is intangible, and creates so many physical reactions, but because it can give you a moment of time to fully experience an emotion, a thought. It can influence, because those sounds represent our emotions. We would be dead with out our emotions. Our emotion is our soul. We have to feel, the second we stop, is the second we die inside. I don't see this existence as a place to chill, or a place to live in. I need purpose. I choose to write, because i choose to feel, and I had to share it with you, because i know deep down inside you care too : ) Goodness always seeks revolution, and its time again, time again to feel. Love & Thanks 2 all of u who choose 2 support my cause Mali Also if you are into the Truth, check out uneonradio.com its an amazing honest, soulful broadcast. Revolution meaning Revolve-solution.
