As the brains behind cult-popsters Eels, Mark Oliver Everett (aka E) has produced some of the best quirky pop of the alternative era. After a spell as MC Honky, Everett has turned his muse toward film soundtracks. The resulting pieces done for the film "Levity" are gorgeous soundscapes, gently floating within an ethereal pop framework.

The soundtrack CD features an inspired, lingering score, and two previously unreleased Eels songs, Skywriting and Taking a Bath in Rust. Levity is the directorial debut of Ed Solomon; Billy Bob Thornton, Morgan Freeman, Holly Hunter, and Kirsten Dunst star in the poignant drama about an ex-convict who finds one last opportunity for true redemption.
