The Sri Lankan coquette's massively inventive mix--traditional rhythms and vocals with hip-hop beats 'n' rhymes--isn't as shocking as it was in 2005, but it may be even better crafted. With their thunderous slams and heavy repetition, the indigenous lines emerge as rap's oddly perfect mate.
Biography
"Boyz" is the first official single from M.I.A.'s much anticipated new album, KALA. KALA was released on XL Recordings in Japan on August 8, 2007, and in the UK on August 20. Interscope Records released the full length record in the US on August 21.
