Editor's review

Somewhere out there, a member of the Aussie-based Presets is sulking, wondering why another of their countrymen had to come along and steal away all the shine. Midnight Juggernauts are straight out of Melbourne, and their nu-disco-meets-indie flavor recalls something like a mashing of Giorgio Moroder, Air, and Phoenix. Way to go, mates.

Biography

Midnight Juggernauts are an indie-electro-synth assault poised before Armageddon. A sonic blizzard traversing dirty-organ-rock to stadium-disco-metal to sci-fi rollerskating jams, igniting dancefloors along the way. Beyond the sound and the fury, they take their listeners through landscapes haunted by Georgio Moroder, ELO and John Carpenter before entering the dark future world of Bronx Warriors 2020, as captured by a '70s Italian film crew.

Tracks including Raised By Wolves, Shadows and 45 & Rising have already recieved high rotation on Triple J and their new EP "Secrets of the Universe" debuted at number 1 on the Australian Indie charts. They're currently preparing white hot material for their upcoming debut album. Until then their sounds can be heard on various compilations including Modular?s ?Leave them All Behind?, FBIs ?Kill Your Idols? cd, !K7's Tsubi DJ Kicks disk, Cutcopy's Fabric release, Ministry of Sounds Mashed 3, Ajax's Spin City, and more. Their cheap homemade clips can also be found on some VICE DVDs floating about.

They've also remixed tracks for The Presets, Electric 6, Damn Arms, Stardust 5, Dragonette and others, which sound great. Their own tunes have been remixed by Cutcopy, Spod, The Presets, Ajax, and members of Wolfmother, which sound great too.

Their blistering live shows and party shakedowns have also created a noise, selling out their own huge tours, as well as playing with the likes of Scissor Sisters, Mstrkrft, Har Mar Superstar, Annie, Death From Above 1979, Electric Six, Trans Am, Chromeo and etc...

With a host of other side projects kicking along including a soundtrack to a new feature film, Midnight Juggernauts have been forging a remarkably unique path through the music scene. Without doubt one of the most exciting new acts to come out of the country they are now here to burn your house down.
