The difference between retro rock and acoustic folk is, no matter how many mumbly, lo-fi singer-songwriters we've got, there's always room for one more. On his moody, unassuming first EP, The Great War, Toronto's Doyle doesn't sound entirely different from Devendra Banhart, Sufjan Stevens, or Elliott Smith, but why would we want him to?
