Minmae have a classic indie-rock sound: lovelorn melodies, warbled vocals, and a dash of guitar skronk. T-shirted rockers can iron their hair all night long to Minmae’s jaded symphonies. This California trio keeps it short and bittersweet.
If my memory serves correct, [minmae] started in 1998.
I know it started at a place called Bedrock Studios, in what was called North County, California. There were many trees and the studio was at the top of a hill that could only be reached by a long winding road. At the top a wooden sign read "sound your klaxon." This is how I knew where I was, though it wasn't ever necessary to sound my klaxon. Here, with Eric Neilsen, I recorded the Poltergeist over England 7". Many things have happened between then and now.
Suffice it to say, [minmae] is now Sean Brooks (guitar, voice), Joshua Allen Kempa (bass), and Greg Murphy (drums).
