Biography

Born in Jacksonville, Florida, 23 year old sultry-R&B vocalist Miss Bless (birth name: Laura Flores) grew up with music in her blood. Admiring artists like SWV, Mary J. Blidge, Erika Badu, Aaliyah and influenced by Hip-Hop, she has managed to find her own approach to delivering her music. Singing for as long as she can remember, Miss Bless realized, at the age of 15, that it was time to take her talents serious. With this newfound seriousness, she started performing at various high school events. It was around this time when she started writing. ?I started with free verse poetry and then it eventually turned into songs,? she says. Now she resides in Newport News, Virginia where she was introduced to songwriting/production team Tim Byrd, Brian Branch, Bernard Biddle and Aaron "AK" Kane?who have worked with such artists as Aaliyah, Boyz II Men, Dave Hollister, Timbaland, Playa and Outsiderz 4 Life. ?She was hired to sing a hook for this hip hop session I recorded and I immediately fell in love with the rawness and honesty of her voice. Then she impressed me even more with these great song ideas that she carried around in a blue notebook?so I said, let?s get started now.? says Byrd. The result was ?Last Time? a song about the strength of a woman?s final decision to leave an abusive relationship. Miss Bless is currently writing and recording new songs. ?I like that fact that I get a chance to share what I do with other people,? she says. We can be sure to see great things from her in the near future.
