People talk about a "Return to Judaism." But the Hebrew word "teshuva" can also be translated as an answer... response... or "echo." Mordechai Schiller's songs are echoes of Jerusalem--source and resonator of the Jewish soul.
Mordechai is a folksinger/songwriter influenced by Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan and Pete Seeger (from whom he picked up the 12-string guitar). Mordechai has appeared on Israel Television and Radio, and the Yitzchak Hutner show on Arutz Sheva Radio. He has no commercial recordings, but you’re welcome to enjoy and share these songs.
Perhaps the greatest influence was Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach. As Mordechai says, "Shlomo heard the song in my soul and taught me to sing it!"
As Shlomo said, "Mordechai is a Gevald!"
