In 1991 Andreas Rimheden and Stefan Thor teamed up to make music of the kind both of them loved: Skinny Puppy, Leatherstrip, Klinik, Nitzer Ebb. Their first demo was a huge success and made their whole home town want to start their own bands. The original style of Morticians was also heavily influenced by bad horror movies, which was a theme they used in their stage shows too. In 1994 the band decided to try something new. Inspired by Dirk Ivens and his minimal but aggressive music they set out to make minimal industrial/noise and released their second demo: Thpfft! We fucked Fifi. By 1996 the two band members went separate ways. Andreas went on to make a kind of industrial influenced synthpop in his new band Eternity Range while Stefan Thor followed Andreas Tilliander's example and started making experimental electronica in a few different solo projects. In 2004 Andreas and Stefan joined forces again to release a remastered CD version of their original demo, along with a remix CD featuring artists like Project X and Tilliander. Since then Andreas has continued making new material for Morticians as well as for Eternity Range while Stefan has returned to his own projects.
