Mozez

Mozez is the artist name for Paul Morris. Born of a Cockney father and a Czech mother, he made his way back to his mother?s place of birth in Brno, the Czech Republic in 2001, where he recorded intensively for 4 months using only a Yamaha keyboard and minidisc recording facilities. After a strange couple of years in his life and with time on his hands, Mozez set about finding a vent for his emotions and musical ideas, which in the previous year had been first realised in Szczecin, North Poland with his colleague and friend, Jake Bickerton, with whom he formed the duo Pravda. Mozez continues in the downbeat vein of Pravda, but also introduces some other elements into the mix, including a penchant for film soundtrack style pieces, some house and techno influenced tunes and the odd piece of drum and bass thrown in. Generally speaking, the tunes are on more of a melancholic tip and could do with a quite a bit of cleaning up but the melodies are strong enough to overcome the poor sound quality. Mozez always had at least some music in his blood and this allowed him to play all the sounds you hear.
