One needn't live in Kiev to appreciate this collection of Ukrainian poetry and its musical accompaniment. From a sonic standpoint, losing meaning in translation might even be a plus: we can fully focus on the rhythm and tone of this deeply sonorous tongue.
Ukrainian poetry gently push me to the keybord...I found myself very addicted to it ...My last project was CD - Diamonds of Ukrainian Poetry....collection of 80 verses from 31 poets across time with 25 piano short melodies inside verse or as ending.
Another name to it Return or Povernennya"...While Ukraine was part of USSR poetry was heavy censored by Moskow ...Like T.Shevchenko many verses was completely banned or Oleksandr Oles....
By donating my voice and piano I want to reach out all of you who like Ukrainian....may be some of this verses will inspire you to memorize or to find more about ukrainian poetry...
Nasha duma,hasha pisnya
Nevmre ,ne zagune
Ot de lyude nasha slava ,slava Ukrainu!
