Ireland's Frames have built one of the more lovely and melancholy pop sounds of the last two decades, and have done so tragically quietly (in the States, anyway). The band's Glen Hansard stars as a downtrodden bard in "Once," producing a music so sweet it almost makes his status implausible.
Biography
A modern day musical set on the streets of Dublin. Featuring Glen Hansard from the Irish band "The Frames," the film tells the story of a street musician and a Czech immigrant during an eventful week as they write, rehearse and record songs that reveal their unique love story.
