Pablo Gil studied flute and saxophone in Venezuela, France and the USA. He obtained the gold medal in saxophone at the Conservatoire National de Paris, the Premier Prix de Saxophone de la Ville de Paris and an MA in Jazz Performance at the University of New York. Gil has recorded with the Duke Ellington Orchestra, Chico O'Farrill Big Band, John Benitez, Steve Turre, Brian Lynch, Ron Carter, Dan Carrillo, "Patato" Valdes, Hector Martignon, Juan Pablo Torres, "Tata" Guines, "Changuito" Chocolate Armenteros, "Anga" Diaz, Camilo Azuquita, Herve Selling, Fran?ois Jenny Clark, Mario Rivera, Papo Vazquez, Michael Mossman, Soledad Bravo, Andres Briceno, Julio Mendoza, Grupo Cimarron, Leo Blanco, Victor Mestas, Orlando Poleo, among others. Gil has participated in festivals at the French Cultural Centre of Abidjan; Birdland, Knitting Factory, Studio 54 in New York, Barranqui Jazz Festival 1999, Barranquilla; Ronnie Scott's and Jazz Cafe, London; World Exhibition 1998, Lisbon; Marciac and Vaness Jazz Festivals, 1998; Jazz Festival of Boudroum, Turkey; and St. Louis Jazz Festival '97 in Senegal.
