Biography
Papa Joe Grappa is a guitarist who writes and sings topical blues in the Los Angeles area. He sings songs about plastic surgery, medical marijuana, oversized SUVs, jury duty, Starbucks, priests molesting altar boys and teachers sleeping with students. Papa Joe is backed by a stellar group of musicians who've played and recorded with the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Steve Miller, Dave Mason, Van Morrison and Bruce Springsteen. He's backed on vocals by the Sweet Inspirations, backup singers to Elvis Presley. He's played clubs in New York, London, Paris, Memphis, Philadelphia, Las Vegas and Salt Lake City. Papa Joe Grappa is unique and has been described as 'a square peg in the round hole of the blues.'
