Biography

The soul behind Plasticine Porter works by day as an elementary school teacher. From years of playing garages and basements as a trippy bass player, he is finally ready to step out onto the porch. The rich culture of mountain music in the heart of the Blue Grass, Lexington, Kentucky, has permeated his every pore and, through a deep injection of psychedelic pop, explodes with this demo. Plasticine Porter has musical training, along with his teaching degree, from the University of Oregon. He has worked as a sideman in a multitude of groups ranging from Jazz, Cajun, Pop Rock, and Hawaiian Luah to the Blues.

A fanatic of Beat Poetry, Plasticine Porter?s stylings lie somewhere in the crossroads of Old Timey and Avant Garde. Call it Banjo-infused Psychedelic Americana. This Demo represents a fresh, new batch of accessable tunes designed to display all the talents of his experience and vision. Plasticine Porter is seeking an independent record label to encourage this talent and develop more music in this vein, similar to a mix of the childlike wonderings of Modest Mouse with a touch of the frenzy of Oneida.

The market for this music is primarily of the progressive, post-Punk Slacker Generation, but according to the results of mailings and opinion polls, will be popular with many other forward-thinking populations who appreciate the TragicComedy of NeoAmericana that is unique to Plasticine Porter.
