A new project by Midwest Product boss Ben Mullins and drummer/vocalist Michael Kuzmanovski , PostPrior produces a more listenable version of dainty techno-pop. Kuzmanovski's tenor floats over shuffling minimal techno production, and pop-savvy keys, synths, and snares mingle to resemble deep house.
PostPrior is the duo of Midwest Product main man Ben Mullins and vocalist/wunder-drummer Michael Kuzmanovski (the descendent of circus acrobats – no lie). Blending 80s melancholy with razor-sharp programming and composition skills, the duo craft a totally unique kind of pop with the same finesse and attention to detail that multi-instrumentalist Mullins displayed with his former band. Equal parts catchy, quirky, and epic – and with subject matter ranging from film/TV actor Elliott Gould to George Willig, who scaled the World Trade Center with a set of homemade claws in the late 70s – the PostPrior sound is expansive and ambitious without ever betraying those with an ear for detail and a need to dance.
