"Heaviosity" may not appear in the O.E.D., but that doesn't stop this Montreal metal act from applying the term to their sound. Strangely, we know just what they mean. Screaming blues-rock riffs and cocksure vocals are underlined by a sludgy low-end and drill sergeant drums.
Priestess epitomizes the escape from banality and redundance in present day music, without pretense, or gimmickry. It is the positive intensity and true passion with which Priestess conveys a distaste for the mundane that has built her a reputation as a force to admire and to reckon. Along with guitar riffage powerful enough to brand itself into brain tissue, this band achieves pure sonic bliss through genuine heaviosity and uncomprimized melodic hookery. Their debut album "Hello Master" is a mighty contributor to the world of rock'n'roll.
