Radhika

Radhika is a singer / songwriter from London Her first experience musically was accompanying her father in Indian Classical recitals in and around London. Taking up the piano at age 6, Radhika began training her ear for western classical music.
Having graduated in BSc. Economics with honours at London University UCL, Radhika began writing soon after her return from a life changing backpacking trip around South America.

Radhika's songs are classic, crafted and personal with an emphasis on the lyrics, and she describes the music as 'Rock Soul' infused with ambience, electronics and at times a little of her culture. She is currently working with producers to develop this sound. In the past she has worked with a wide range of people from Cameron McVey (Massive Attack), The Architects (Body Groove) to the Bugz in the Attic.

Radhika has performed at numerous venues both large and small from Wembly Arena where she performed in front of 7000 people in 2001 to the Hackney Ocean where she won the most Outstanding Artist Award at the 2002 Urban Voice Contest. In 2003 she performed in front of 5000 in Trafalgar Square at a concert celebrating Indian Culture. She also performs regularly on the London singer's circuit where she also hosts nights. This includes the Spot in Covent Garden, Kabaret and The Troy Bar in Shoreditch. Radhika also performs jazz gigs at venues around London.
She also performs backing vocals on TV for, amongst others, Craig David on Top of the Pops and GMTV.

Radhika is currently working with the producer Andy Wright (Simply Red, Eurythmics, Massive Attack). Andy works with her at Metropolis Studios in London and claims she is one of the best singer/ songwriters he has heard in the last few years.
