Rai's effervescent acoustic pop has such a laid-back charm and warm-hearted appeal that even when she's singing about heartbreak and sadness, it's hard not to smile. Her bossa nova-tinged, unrequited love songs are a bit fragile, but like a true ingenue, she makes them her own.
Biography
In 2004 Rai recorded her first album, La Magical, with the help of friend Adam Raspler and producer Scott Ralston (311 affiliates).
2005 came with interest from Capitol Records. Rai was given a Demo deal and her pick of a stellar team of producers including Kevin Augunas and Matt Mahaffey of "Self". Capitol Records turned down the opportunity.
Now in 2006, Rai is happily working locally and low-fi. A Demo is planned for a summer release. You can keep track of tour dates at www.myspace.com/raiskotchie. This is an artist who loves what she does for all the right reasons. She'll keep you interested effortlessly, she'll make you fall in love immediately; fresh as the shortest attention span, and always hungry for more - something big is what she's after now.
