In baseball terms, an MC who also makes tight beats is like a pitcher who also slugs--a rare and valued commodity. Chicago's Hadee offers that two-pronged attack, and he knows what works for his own rhymes: thumping, neo-Golden Age beats that go big without getting fancy.
Reminding listeners of the "Golden Era" of Hip-Hop without sounding dated, Rashid Hadee's solo music combines soul piercing wit, hard-edged confidence and innovative beat production. As one-half of the highly regarded hip-hop group Chapter 13, the young Chicago native is here to show the world he has what it takes to stand out alone in the competitive world that is underground hip-hop.
Rashid’s work has appeared or been highlighted on MTV.com, Hiphopsite.com, Hiphopgame.com, DJ Mag (UK), Stealth Magazine (Australia), Rapmullet.com, Violatordjs.com, Spitkickers.com, Hip-hop-elements.com, MVRemix.com, Out4Fame Magazine (Australia), Serie B Magazine (Spain), IGN.com, Platform8470.com, Webbeatz.de, Thick.com, Legacy Magazine and many more.
“Following in the footsteps of double threat pioneers such as The RZA, Diamond D and Havoc of Mobb Deep, Rashid Hadee creates beautiful music with aggressive rhymes that are thoughtful and refreshing,” says Neblina co-founder Leo Jeffers.
Heavily influenced musically by the soul of his father who passed in 1998, and his Uncle, both talented musicians in their own right, Rashid uses this inspiration plus the real life lessons learned on the gritty Chicago streets to formulate a mic presence that is easily relatable. From tagging graffiti on walls to waking up to the ice-cold “hawk” of the Windy City in his Hyundai Elantra, Rashid passionately recounts tales of life in Chicago while overcoming personal demons and obstacles. The talented producer has laced tracks for MCs such as Common Sense and Special Ed and entirely produced Abstract Mindstate’s mixtape with guest appearances by Kanye West.
Rashid lists DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Madlib, Manny Fresh, Nasheim Myrick, DJ Spinna, Kanye West, Dr. Dre, and The Alchemist as a few of his major influences.
